Photography as a window2life

My passion for photography lies in my belief that it is an excellent window2life. A medium to capture, share, remember and celebrate a view of life. The possibilities are endless, including: a photograph of a loved one; a photograph of fantastic scenery to show to someone who may never be able to visit that place; a photograph of an important event; or a creatively processed photo to capture a particular mood.

Apart from photographs of family and friends, I particularly enjoy landscape photography. The reasons for my interest in landscape photography are many. As an Australian, I am blessed to live in a country with a wide range of astounding scenery. I travel regularly for work which enables me to visit many other scenic countries. Working in an office I relish the opportunity of hiking into country-side areas, enjoying the physical exercise and outdoor natural beauty. Also capturing the beauty of the world we live in is a reminder of our need to appreciate and preserve that beauty for the many generations who will follow after us.

My passion for photography had two origins. First, my eldest daughter expressed an interest in learning photography and so we started learning together - although she has always easily surpassed me with her creative eye and unique way of spotting and composing shots. Second, as a trademark lawyer I have been very fortunate to count Sony as one of the clients I have worked with for over 20 years. During that time I have been able to celebrate their hugely successful range of alpha mirrorless cameras and lenses - both inside the office working and outside of the office taking photographs.

During the journey of learning photography, I have been very fortunate to meet, receive great guidance from and be inspired by a number of extremely talented professional photographers. It will take me many more years to even come remotely close to their excellent photographs. However, I am in no rush, as I know I will thoroughly enjoy every minute of the journey.

I hope you enjoy my photographs and wish you all the best for your own journeys.
