Where most photographs reach sideways, Vertique rises. Shaped by Japanese aesthetics and an Australian love of nature, these vertical works offer a different way of seeing, bringing proportion and presence to the walls other formats leave behind.
Collaborating with you
Every collaboration begins with a conversation about the space: its light, its proportions, the feeling you want when you walk in. From there I help you choose, or create, the right artwork for it. I work with you personally throughout, from that first conversation to the wall.
Japanese Craft & Aesthetics
Some places teach you new ways of seeing. Others quietly confirm the instincts you already carry. Japan did both for me. Its aesthetics and craftsmanship reflected qualities I had always valued: balance, quiet space and precision. Today those same qualities live in my work, from contemporary presentations to kakejiku, traditional hanging scrolls created with master artisans in Japan.
Craftsmanship
Craftsmanship begins long before the shutter is released. It lies in choosing the place, waiting for the light, composing the image and refining every detail. It continues through masterful printing, the careful choice of materials and the finishing of each piece, until the photograph becomes the artwork it was always meant to be.

My youth among Australia’s landscapes shaped my early sense of wonder. My adult life immersed in Japan’s culture added a philosophical depth.
